Men’s Wrestling Head Coach Ryan Dickinson deployed with National Guard; Lupton serves as Interim

Coach Ryan Dickinson, a serviceman of the Iowa National Guard, is answering his call of duty, and Assistant Coach Joe Lupton is stepping in as interim head coach during his deployment. Coach Dickinson just finished his fourth season with the Warriors and Coach Lupton finished his second season.

Waldorf University Hires Tom Myers as Head Softball Coach

Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Myers as Head Softball Coach. Myers has head coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. At Kimberly School District, he served as physical education teacher, assistant baseball coach for one year, and head baseball coach for five years. His teams made state appearances in three of those years and were district champions in 2011 and 2012. Coach also earned SCIC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

Michael Wirth Returns to North Iowa as Waldorf University's Head Men's Basketball Coach

Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Wirth as Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Originally from Thompson, Iowa and a graduate of North Iowa High School in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Wirth returns to North Iowa from Arizona where he spent the last 23 years teaching and coaching basketball at various levels. Wirth helped form the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association and facilitated the association’s coaching clinic for multiple years, developing relationships with high school and college coaches. Most recently, he served as founder and Director of 3D Hoops Club program and Director of Basketball Operations for Iron Country Basketball Training and Performance Center.

Waldorf University Hires Alec Nys as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Alec Nys as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Coach Nys comes to Waldorf after spending last year as assistant coach and head development coach for Rocky Mountain College Men's Basketball. While at Rocky, Nys helped the Battlin' Bears to win 19 games and win a game at the Frontier Conference tournament. Nys had the opportunity to coach one first team all-conference player, two second team players, and nine academic all-conference players in his one season at Rocky.

Waldorf University Athletics earns 2024-25 Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award

On Monday, July 28, 2025, the NAIA released the 2024-25 Champions of Character institutions. Waldorf University scored a perfect 100 on the Champions of Character scorecard, earning the Five-Star Gold level for the third year in a row.

Heitkamp named D1 Hockey Head Coach

The Waldorf American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 team announced Tuesday that Associate Head Coach Mike Heitkamp will move back into the Head Coach position for the 2025-26 season. Sean Parker remains the ACHA Division 2 coach and Chayse Haberman remains the graduate assistant for both programs.

The Waldorf University men's soccer program is gearing up for a new chapter in 2025 with the release of its full season schedule under the leadership of newly appointed Head Coach Joseph Tibbs. The Warriors are aiming to make history this fall by securing their first ever berth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) tournament.
