FOREST CITY, Iowa - Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Myers as Head Softball Coach. Myers has head coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. At Kimberly School District, he served as physical education teacher, assistant baseball coach for one year, and head baseball coach for five years. His teams made state appearances in three of those years and were district champions in 2011 and 2012. Coach also earned SCIC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

During his seven years as head softball coach at Northeastern Junior College, Coach Myers was the winningest coach in program history with back-to-back Region IX championship appearances in 2021 and 2022. He coached four NJCAA All-Americans, one NFCA All-American, twenty First Team All-Region IX players, three Region IX "Freshman of the Year," three Region IX "Player of the Year," and forty NJCAA Academic All-Americans. In 2021, his team had a program record of 36 wins and were the Region IX regular season champions.

Most recently, Coach Myers served as physical education teacher and head baseball coach at Kimberly School District. His 2023 and 2024 teams were district champions, and he also earned SCIC Coach of the Year for both years. In 2023, he and his team were runner-up state champions, and in 2024, the team placed 3rd in the state.

"First, I would like to thank Athletic Director Chad Gassman and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to head the women's softball program," Coach Myers said. "My family and I are excited for this new chapter and the chance to connect not only with the Waldorf University family, but the Forest City community as well."

Coach Myers said, "My staff and I will provide every softball student athlete the best experience possible on the field, in the classroom, and within the community. I cannot wait to begin the process of revitalizing Warrior Softball and continue the rich history behind the program."

Coach Myers begins his recruiting duties immediately as the team prepares for the 2025-26 season.
