DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Waldorf University made a memorable debut on the national stage at the NCA College Nationals, earning a third-place finish in its first-ever appearance at the prestigious competition. Competing against a strong field of six programs, Waldorf University proved it belonged among the nation's top collegiate teams by finishing in the winners circle with an impressive performance.

The six-team field featured Waldorf University, Indiana University Southeast, Midland University, MidAmerica Nazarene University, McPherson College, and Missouri Baptist University. The team performed twice, once in the prelims and then advancing to the finals. Against that competitive lineup, Waldorf's third-place finish marked a significant milestone for the program, scoring a 78.23.

With 15 athletes taking the mat, Waldorf showcased both depth and determination throughout the event. The Warriors rose to the occasion under the wave of nationals, demonstrating poise and teamwork in a setting many programs spend years trying to reach.

For a first trip to nationals, finishing among the top three teams is a statement achievement. Waldorf not only represented its university with pride but also established a foundation for future success at the national level. The historic performance signals that Waldorf University has arrived as a rising force in collegiate competition, and this first nationals appearance is only the beginning.

"This achievement is a testament to Waldorf University and Warrior Athletics for their unwavering commitment to student-athletes and for creating opportunities like this for our program," Head Coach Cat Evans said. "We especially want to recognize Athletic Directors Chad Gassman and Jenna Quina, whose support and dedication to cheer made this experience possible and ensured our team had the chance to compete and represent WU at the highest level of collegiate cheerleading.

"Our team gave everything they had, and I am incredibly grateful for their effort, trust, and belief in our vision. They embraced the plan, competed with confidence, and performed with outstanding energy and showmanship. This was a truly special team, and it was an honor to coach them this season.

Waldorf Cheer will be back in action beginning with their sideline season in the fall and competition season in the spring semester.
