SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Five Warriors on the Shooting Sports team competed in the ACUI & SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championships in March. It includes six shooting events over six days with 100 targets for each event: American skeet, American doubles trap, American trap, American doubles trap, sporting clays, and super sporting competition shooting.
To determine high overall (HOA) scoring programs, schools are split into divisions based on number of student representatives and the top five totals of targets broken in the individual disciplines are counted. Waldorf was placed in Division III based on a school with 1-10 student representatives. Waldorf's team scores were:
- Skeet: 437
- Trap: 398
- Doubles Skeet: 394
- Super Sporting: 360
- Doubles Trap: 347
- Sporting Clays: 307
Waldorf's final score was 2243, placing them 26th overall.
Individually, Fisher Nagel scored 96 in trap, 91 in doubles trap, 91 in skeet, 87 in doubles skeet, and 76 in sporting clays for a total of 529.
Desirae Igou scored 85 in trap, 74 in doubles trap, 89 in skeet, 91 in doubles skeet, and 72 in sporting clays for a total of 488.
Nicole Laes scored 86 in trap, 65 in doubles trap, 90 in skeet, 72 in doubles skeet, and 61 in sporting clays for a total of 440.
Dominick Weaver scored 83 in trap, 64 in doubles trap, 83 in skeet, 74 in doubles skeet, and 50 in sporting clays for a total of 421.
Brianna Myers scored 48 in trap, 53 in doubles trap, 84 in skeet, 70 in doubles skeet, and 48 in sporting clays for a total of 365.
This finished the season for the shooting sports team, who will start competitions again in the fall.
