Waldorf University is pleased to announce that Dr. Bharat Bhattarai, a distinguished Chemistry professor, has been invited to pursue cutting-edge research this summer at Ames National Laboratory. Dr. Bhattarai will collaborate with renowned scientists Dr. Long Qi and Dr. Damien Culver in a research project focused on understanding the intricate mechanisms by which transition metals are embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon surfaces to catalyze the hydrogenolysis of C-O bonds.

Waldorf University hosts the 10th annual Top of Iowa High School Creative Writing Contest

Waldorf University will host the 10th annual Top of Iowa High School Creative Writing Contest for regional high school students on March 14, 2024. The contest will culminate with a one-day writing festival on the Waldorf University campus, where winners will be announced. The festival will include opportunities for students to attend talks on varying aspects of creative writing, participate in an open mic, and attend a reading by Waldorf’s Distinguished visiting writer, RS Deeren. Deeren will be reading from his debut short story collection Enough to Lose, a vivid portrait of life in rural America where hard-working families fight for survival in a home that is increasingly unrecognizable and untenable.

Waldorf University joins the Great Plains Athletic Conference beginning with the 2024-25 Academic Year

Waldorf University and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced Monday that Waldorf will join the GPAC as a full member beginning with the 2024-25 Academic Year. GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra, Waldorf University President Robert Alsop, and Waldorf Director of Athletics Chad Gassman made the joint announcement to a standing room only crowd at Monday’s press conference at the Boman Fine Arts Center in Forest City.
