Forest City, IOWA – ‘Tis the season to celebrate a weekend of joyful sounds at Christmas With Waldorf!
On Dec. 3, Waldorf University will sponsor a dinner and concert at the Waldorf Atrium for all to attend. The dinner will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Performing will be guest artist Paul Micich, leader and composer for the band World Port, based in Des Moines.

Micich will entertain the crowd with his EVI electric horn, a hybrid instrument that uses the expression and control of a wind instrument to shape digital sound. The electronic valve instrument produces a variety of timbres as Micich combines sampled sounds. He uses multiple synthesizers mixing raw sounds to shape with the horn.

He will play with the Waldorf Choir on several selections including the Norwegian carol, “O Yule, Full of Gladness” and “Ah, Holy Jesus.”

On Dec. 4, Waldorf will present a second concert at the church at 2 p.m. Following this concert, all Christmas with Waldorf attendees are invited to the Fellowship Hall of the church for coffee, punch and cookies.

Tickets for the Dec. 3 and 4 concerts are $5 and the dinner costs $17 per person. Those 17 and younger get in free for the concert only. To reserve tickets, please visit www.waldorf.edu/christmas and click on the “Reserve your tickets” link. For more information, call 641-585-8177.
