The Warriors Writing Club is a learning community where students can share their creative works with a network of fellow gifted writers. The organization is dedicated to the support of aspiring authors, poets, screenplay writers and other related artists. Members enjoy increased interaction with other student writers as well as faculty advisors and visiting authors. As an extension of the Creative Writing-English curricula, Warriors Writing Club offers tremendous opportunities for leadership and involvement in:
- Organizing and participating in Open Mics and an annual campus-wide Read-a-thon
- Serving as publication staff or contributors with the annual print journal: Waldorf Literary Review
- Assisting with the Waldorf-sponsored Top of Iowa High School Writing Contest and Festival
- Interacting with nationally recognized writers through the Waldorf Distinguished Visiting Writers Series
- Presenting creative work in conferences and competitions such as the Streamlines Undergraduate
- Writing and Literature Conference or the Salveson Prize Competition
Participants could also receive a scholarship through the Pillars Program.
