Waldorf University & KinderCare Learning Centers Partnership

The KLC to Waldorf University pathway focuses on providing KLC teachers a straight forward way into and through our Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. 

This pathway accepts both an earned CDA and KinderCare provided trainings/work experience as transfer credit into the AA in ECE at Waldorf. 

At Waldorf University, undergraduate students can transfer in up to 75% of credits towards a degree program. For an Associate's program, that's 45 credits you can transfer in. 

An earned CDA (through any provider) counts as the following:

*course names may be specific to Teachstone but all CDA certification are eligible for transfer credit into the AA in Early Childhood Education program at Waldorf.

In addition to an earned CDA, Waldorf University is happy to transfer in any previously earned college coursework, additional professional certifications, and in some cases, work experience. 

We want our students to be able to fit school into their lives, not fit their lives into school. To accomplish this, we structure courses for flexibility: with no set class times, 8 units per course, and a consistent/predictable schedule. Our AA in Early Childhood Education, specifically, was designed with KLC leadership, for early childhood educators across the country.  

Our student support teams are incredibly strong; these student-centered advocates work to support students throughout the whole journey - all the way through graduation and beyond! Students will have several methods for support:

• Student Services Representatives. Your student services rep will be your main point of contact at Waldorf.  They will help connect you with resources, facilitate additional term registrations, and help with study plans. 
• Academic Advisors. This team works, starting before you even become a student, to support the entirety of the academic journey. The advisors monitor not only progress towards the degree, but in-class progress. This is the main support team for when someone has academic needs.
• Faculty. Educators educating educators! Our faculty are all professionals in the fields they instruct as well as seasoned college instructors. This will be your first resource for anything you need in class. 

No matter where you turn at Waldorf, we have a team in place to assist you. 

The only challenge we want you to face in higher education is in your coursework; getting started and sticking with it should be the easy part. Here are the steps you'll need to get started:

1. If you're ready, you can go ahead and apply online. You'll create an account and then complete the application. If you have questions, you can reach out to us at onlineadmissions@waldorf.edu or 877-359-1444. 
2. After you apply, we will get you accepted to Waldorf! For more information about the acceptance process, visit our admissions page.
3. You will then send us anything that could transfer in as credit. This includes your CDA completion documentation, professional certificates, and anything else you believe may count! We'll do a no-cost evaluation to see where you stand on your path to your AA. 
4. After your transfer credits have been evaluated, you'll be ready to enroll in your first term at Waldorf!
