About this Event
Waldorf University will host a Creative Writing Festival for prospective students, which will culminate in announcing and celebrating the winners of the 14th annual Top of Iowa High School Creative Writing Contest.
The event is free, open to the public, and will include opportunities to attend talks and workshops on varying aspects of creative writing. Attendees will also learn publishing insights from the editorial staff of the Waldorf Literary Review and attend a reading by Waldorf’s Distinguished Visiting Writer, dezireé a. brown, author of they/she/he: ritual to forget your (un)becoming.
Schedule:
- 12:30-1 p.m.: Registration/Check-In (Salveson Lobby - 106 S 6th St, Forest City, IA. 50436)
- 1-1:30 p.m.: Opening Word
- 1:30-2 p.m.: Admissions Presentation (Johnson Ballroom)
- 2-2:50 p.m.: Campus Tour
- 3-3:40 p.m.: Breakout Sessions (screenwriting, poetry, prose)
- 3:45-4:25 p.m.: Waldorf Literary Review Presentation
- 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Visiting Distinguished Writer Reading
- 5:30-6 p.m.: Awards ceremony for the Top of Iowa High School Contest
- 6-6:30 p.m.: Closing Mixer
