Waldorf University Music is excited to host our Second Annual High School Honor Band & Choir Festival! This festival has been designed to offer a unique, high-quality, FREE experience to attending students!

Location: Boman Fine Arts Center and Waldorf University Campus

Please choose the corresponding form for your registration. Directors registering ensembles, small groups, or multiple students please use the "Director" link. Students attending individually, please choose the "Student" link.

Choral Repertoire

  • Choral Fantasie, Op. 80 by Beethoven. Featuring: Dr. Jonathan Korth of the University of Hawai’i Manoa, piano; Melissa Shallberg, Ericka Forsberg, Annika Andrews, Jason Heitland, Ethan Pruisman, Dr. Stewart Cramer, vocalists. (Score information sent upon registration).
  • All Together We are Love by Katerina Gimon (participants must purchase score).

Honor Band Repertoire

  • Halcyon Hearts - Katahj Copley
  • A Little Tango Music - Adam Gorb
  • Remembering the Remarkables - Grace Baugher
  • Among the Clouds - Brian Balmages

Evening Concert at Boman Fine Arts Center – 7-8 p.M. – Featuring

  • Waldorf Wind Symphony & invited high school honor band participants.
  • Festival Chorus features the Waldorf Choir, North Iowa Choral Society members, high school honor choir participants, solo artists, and guest instrumentalists.

  • 12:30 p.m. – ARRIVAL TO WALDORF UNIVERSITY CAMPUS
    • Choir student check-in: Boman Fine Arts Center Lobby (225 John K. Hanson Dr., Forest City, IA)
    • Band student check-in: Odvin Hagen Music Center Lobby (OHMC)(106 S. Sixth St., Forest City, IA)
    • Busses may park at Boman Fine Arts Center (225 John K. Hanson Dr., Forest City, IA)
  • HONOR CHOIR SCHEDULE:
    • 1 p.m. – Rehearsal #1 (Boman Auditorium)
    • 2:15 p.m. – Choir Sectionals
      • 2:15-2:30 - S/A on Boman stage, T/B in art gallery
      • 2:35-2:50 - S/B on Boman stage, A/T in art gallery
    • 2:50 p.m. – Break
    • 3 p.m. – Rehearsal #2 (Boman Auditorium)
    • 4 p.m. – Student panels
    • 4:30 p.m. Break (find holding rooms)
    • 4:45 p.m. – Choral/orchestral/soloist rehearsal (Boman stage)
    • 5:30 p.m. – Change stage to Wind Symphony
    • 5:45 p.m. – Dinner in Boman mezzanine for choir students & Beethoven instrumentalists
  • HONOR BAND SCHEDULE:
    • 1 p.m. – Rehearsal #1 (OHMC rehearsal hall)
    • 1:50 p.m. – Break
    • 2 p.m. – Rehearsal #2 
    • 2:50 p.m. – Break

    • Tickets available online or at the door
    • Tickets are $5 10 and up, 10 & under free
  • 7 p.m. – Concert begins (Boman Fine Arts Center)
