FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf volleyball team came back from a 2 sets to 1 deficit to down No. 18 Midland in five sets (20-25, 25-16, 12-25, 25-14, 15-11) Saturday in a GPAC matchup at Hanson Fieldhouse.

The first set was tied at 17 before Midland closed on an 8-3 run to take a 25-20 set win. It was all Waldorf in the second set. A pair of Alicia Brandtkills helped Waldorf jump out to a 4-0 lead. Midland had trouble handling Kaylee Kidd serves. Waldorf ran off seven straight points on her serve to take a 13-5 lead. A Rachel Watson service ace gave Waldorf a 16-6 lead. They went on to even the match with a 25-16 set win.

Midland easily took the third set, 25-12, to take a 2 sets to 1 lead. Waldorf bounced back to easily take the fourth set, 25-14, to even the match. In the deciding fifth set, a pair of Midland errors gave the Warriors an early 2-0 edge. A Kenzie Kidd kill gave WU a 5-3 lead. The lead grew to 11-6 following kills from Emily Soukup and Kaylin Koch. Another Brandt kill put Waldorf one point away from a match win at 14-10. A Midland error ended the match, giving Waldorf the 15-11 fifth set win and 3 sets to 2 match win.

Anna Longhenry led Waldorf with 13 kills. Kenzie Kidd added 12 kills and 12 digs. Kaylee Kidd led with 17 digs. Reinya Balderson had 24 assists. Waldorf totaled 20 blocks led Brandt with five assists and one solo.

Waldorf (9-8, 3-5 in GPAC) heads on the road for a match at Doane on Friday.
