Waldorf University’s Theatre Department presents The 39 Steps by John Buchan, adapted by Patrick Barlow, February 15-18, 2017, in the Smith Theatre in Voss Hall.
 
“The 39 Steps is a must see for those that love theatre,” said Bob Aufrance, Waldorf University’s Dean of Fine Arts and Professor of Theatre. “But even those that aren’t theatre aficionados will love this show. With over 28 sets throughout the performance – including a plane crash – this is entertainment at its finest. Just five actors play a cast of over 100 characters – so the cast has had a lot of fun getting ready for this performance.”
 
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning show is packed with nonstop laughs, zany characters, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance.
 
“This show is a blast!” said Toney Wise, a junior Theatre major from Sterling Heights, Michigan. “I play six different characters throughout the show – from a woman, to a man, to a gangster. This is the most challenging performance I’ve ever done.”
 
“The audience will really enjoy this show because they’ll see how much fun we as actors are having,” Wise continued.
 
The 39 Steps runs from February 15-18, at 7:30 p.m. each night.
