2008-2009 Waldorf Community Artist Series opens with Waldorf alum

The Waldorf Community Artist Series (WCAS) is pleased to announce its roster of six concerts for the 2008-2009 season. The artist series, which appeals to a wide spectrum of musical tastes, kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 21, with a performance by Waldorf alum and professional opera singer, Andrew Oakden ’96. All Waldorf Community Artist Series performances will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City at 7:30 p.m.
AuFrance donates nearly 700 additional movies to Luise V. Hanson Library

After previously donating over 500 movies to Waldorf College’s Luise V. Hanson Library, Dr. Robert AuFrance, director of theatre and associate professor of theatre, one-upped himself by donating nearly 700 additional titles over the summer.

The Waldorf Lutheran College Association will hold its annual meeting on Friday, Sept. 19 in The Atrium on Waldorf's campus in Forest City.
Adult Degree (Term I) classes begin Sept. 8

Term I evening classes in the Waldorf College Adult Degree Program will begin Monday, Sept. 8. Five classes will be offered during Term I, and all meet Monday and Thursday evenings on the campus in Forest City. The classes will conclude the week of November 14.

Children 18:3 will headline Waldorf College’s annual BASH, a free outdoor concert hosted by Waldorf’s student-managed radio station, KZOW, on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. Senseless Beauty and Axis of Action will play opening sets as the concert begins on the lawn outside Waldorf College’s Luise V. Hanson Library.

Waldorf College recently renovated its multimedia lab, the digital technology center of its communications program, making it possible for students studying for a career in TV or film to enjoy the full benefits of high definition television, or HDTV.
Fiebig Performs as Richard III

Waldorf College’s Jeremy Fiebig, assistant professor of theatre, has been appearing in the title role of Shakespeare’s “Richard III” this summer as part of the Pidgeon Creek Theatre Company. He will be featured when the production comes to Waldorf College’s Smith Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.
